Where I live in St. Cloud MN and its metropolitan  area, folks  like bicycling on the sidewalks.  On a trail for pedestrians yield to bladders and bicyclist.  They are faster.   A sidewalk is for pedestrians.  The law says a bicyclist can not ride on the sidewalks.  They have to walk their bikes if they need to.  A pedestrian should not have to move aside. They have there right.

The real difference between a liberal and a conservative is that a liberal demands change when it's not needed and a conservative demands that things do not change for the sack of not changing.     Thank You!  and have a good one!

Hello!  It is me.   I think if one rides their bicycle on the sidewalks is just loosing their nerves.   There kinda afraid.   They are afraid to be where they are suppose to be.  Using hand signal are for all to use. Let drivers know what moves you are about to make and you will be just fine.   If so when needed, you can patiently walk your bike.  The law says you have to be on the street going the same direction as the traffic.    Also please read my books listed above.   You will enjoy them.

introduction.    My name is Randy Schreifels. I am from St. Cloud Minnesota. I am retired. I travel as much as I can afford. I have been all around the US and some in Canada. I visited Historical place. I hope to visit parks more again.

I traveled to Jay Cooke State Park near Duluth  in st. Louis County.

I rented a small cabin. Many state Parks have small cabins for folks who don't have camping equipment like tents.

Each day I was there, I went on hikes.

I challenged myself. I shot one image in color per day . The rest in black-and-white. B&W does very little injustice to images of nature. They can look very interesting.he manual mode of my then D-40 worked well. The auto, not so well for color. For the manual color you will see it did work very well for color. But I had to conclude them.

This book is to be read like a diary.

This is from My Adventures at Jay Cooke.

We must be the ones, business' and individuals, that have to take care of our environment.  The government should make it easier without their liberal spending.  Their 2 cent. Not through tax payer's money.  Wouldn't that be nice if Congressmen and women and members of state government give money out of their own pockets?

Hello!   It has been awhile!   Saying it is safer to bike on the sidewalk is a cop out for not using hand signals.    On a lighter side.    Please buy my books, you'll love them.  Thank You!

Folks in the St. Cloud MN Metro area ride on the sidewalks where they do not belong is because somebody told them they were suppose to.   The ingrate listening to the ingrate.

—Just a reminder to bicyclist in the St. Cloud area and in similar areas,  not to bike on sidewalks.  On trails you and roller skaters  have the right of way.  On a sidewalk, pedestrian have the right of way.  When you bring your bicycle on a sidewalk, you need to walk it.  If it is too slow you ride it on the street.  Us pedestrian should not have to get out of your way when you cry " coming through.  Folks who cry out that you're suppose to bike on the sidewalk are wrong. Check the law.

I heard on the radio that in a minnesota  town. I do not recall the name.  I believe it was in Morrison County, where vandals opened fire hydrants spilling hundreds to millions of gallons of water.  This is a silly and dangerous thing to do.   Folks are going to need that water. I hope these bad people are feeling ashamed.

I will be sending a copy of an introduction of one of my book as soon as I get around to it.   Have a good day!   Thank You!

I am still here.  I would not vote for Biden for he is a liberal spender, but I am for a clean environment , but Trump will make an executive  order against conservation.

Folks are so into cars.  Far conservatives ( I am a moderate) tell us in many ways that everybody should have a car. You get place soon then a bus or train.  Maybe now, but if everybody drove, you have any idea of how much traffic congestion that would be.  They folks then would not be beating these buses and trains.    There would be more pollution.  Not everybody can afford a cars or just rather ride the train.  Trains like Amtrak is a good way to travel.   Thank You for your time.

I was looking through my many images for three to use for a contest for the AARP Foundation , hopefully to have at least one except for their calendar This was for the 2023 Calendar. No such luck. I have failed different times. But it dawned on me that perhaps I have enough images of train depots in the United States and a few in Canada.

Now they come in all sizes.Depots like Penn Station in NewYork, New York have different underground levels for Amtrak, Long Island and others plus shops.

They say that Pennsylvania Station in New York, New York was  a grand looking one until they tore it down at ground level and built Madison Square Garden on it. Now it’s  just a station. I would say off hand that Grand Central to the Northeast is more to brag about. I believe I have no still images on it . Video yes.  In Penn Station it would be hard to get a main shot. Union Station in Washington D.C. is huge. I would say it has less waiting room for the passengers, but has even more shops and actual stores and services.

Depots like the South Station in Boston have areas for trains and buses.

Depots in places such as the Dakotas and Montana have simple buildings. The simplest was the one in Ticoderoga in Upper New York State. A simple square mostly glass building by the tracks in the middle of nowhere.

Back at Penn Station, New York, New York has shops for meals with reasonable prices compared  to what one would pay outside. Union Station in Washington D.C. has its restaurants plus a large Food Court on the lower level. Smaller depots, perhaps vending machines.

One depot is closed and only picks up and dropped off passengers. You can not get inside. One buys their tickets somewhere else.  At Ticonderoga you also have to buy a  ticket like in the town itself. Yet you can go inside . It has a wonderful view.

All images were shot by myself.  Five are stills from the video.

The images will not be in Chronological Order.

This is for the book There is a Train Depot!

I hope someday soon they would do away with strofoam. It is a bad thing for our environment.

It has been a while since I typed anything!   I didn't get around to it or thought of it.   I hope you will buy my book I have advertised.  Plus another message on my blog.    Do you remember how to do hand signal on a bicycle?  Hopefully!   For those who do not.  Left hand out, at 90 degrees up, right turn, left hand straight left, left turn, left hand out and downward, stopping.  If we do this and other safety things then we do not need to be riding bicycles on the sidewalks.  They  are for pedestrians.   Thank You and I wish you well.
